COMING JUNE 1: EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION!
Make plans to join us at 2pm on June 1 at Christ the King for a procession to St. Eugene with the Blessed Sacrament. The Archbishop, priests, deacons, and laypeople will process through the streets of Nichols Hills and the Village to proclaim Jesus as our Lord present in the sacrament of the Eucharist (more here).
WHAT IS THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE PAPACY?
With the recent election of Pope Leo XIV, I think it's a good moment to pause and reflect on the papacy itself.
The pope is successor of Peter, the man Jesus selected to be the head of his Church. Peter died in Rome, and the Bishop selected to lead the Christians of Rome after Peter was thought to be his successor. In time, the worldwide Church came to acknowledge the Bishop of Rome as the Vicar of Christ on earth. The Church, of course, belongs to Christ, but Jesus left us the apostles and their successors as shepherds (more here).

• ACCW Representative: Serves as a liaison to the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women, attending quarterly meetings and sharing updates with our group.
